About the Author

From Overweight to Operational Ready — A Life Built on Systems

For most of his early life, discipline wasn’t the default. In high school, fitness was an afterthought. By college, bad habits had turned into extra pounds, late nights, and low energy. What started as “I’ll fix it someday” became full-blown complacency.

That changed when Dan realized motivation wasn’t coming to save him, and no one else was, either. The only way forward was through structure. He built routines, created non-negotiable standards, and committed to showing up every single day, even when he didn’t want to.

Those small, daily promises evolved into a framework, a system he still lives by today. That same system carried him into the fire service, where readiness isn’t optional and fitness isn’t about vanity; it’s about survival, performance, and leadership.

Over the years, Dan refined those methods into what he now calls “The SOPs of Vitality”. A manual built on discipline, not motivation. It’s the same approach he uses to stay strong, balanced, and ready for whatever life throws his way; at the station, in the gym, and at home.

Through his book and platform, Dan’s mission is simple: to show that discipline is the way and that anyone can build a system for success, one promise at a time.
